The Great Taste Awards are the Oscars of the UK’s speciality food and drink world and in independent blind tastings they are judged by top European chefs, gourmands and food writers.

Canton Tea Co dominated the main loose tea categories: winning seven out of only thirteen Golds awarded for Loose Green Teas. Over 25 tea specialists from the UK and Europe submitted hundreds of green teas, yet they still took over half the awards in the category.

The magnificent Bai Lin Gong Fu Black tea took a top accolade – the Three Star Gold in the Single Estate category.  To give you an idea of just how prestigious that is, only 91 products from the 6017 products entered won a Three Star!

And the winners are:
• Bai Lin Gong Fu Black Tea won the top prize of Three Star Gold.
• Ali Shan Oolong Tea from Taiwan: Two Star Gold
• Jasmine Pearls: Two Star Gold
• Vietnamese Puerh: One Star Gold
• Silver Needle White Tea: One Star Gold
• Meng Ding Huang Ya Yellow Tea: One Star Gold
• Pouchong Green Tea: One Star Gold
• Milan Dan Cong Oolong Tea: One Star Gold
